Service Description

The Cottonwood canyons boast some of the best granite and quartzite in the state. Join local climbers James and Logan as they lead the way to some of their favorite canyon climbing spots, set up ropes, and have a great (and safe) time. We will climb a wall around 20-30 minutes from Salt Lake, at various locations determined based on weather, time of day, and climber skill level. Expect a short walk from where we park to reach the wall. Once we've arrived, James and Logan will set up a toprope (considered the safest method of outdoor climbing) and then belay everyone in the group so everyone gets a crack at the wall that wants one. Each trip will consist of at least two routes; if time allows, we will set up more. There will be opportunity for photos; contact Logan if you want professional DSLR photos of your climbing experience. What we will supply: Ropes Belay Devices/Belayers Helmets A granola bar/trail mix per person Harness (+$6) Climbing shoes (+$6) What you will supply: Sufficient water Climbing shoes (if you have them) Climbing harness (if you have one) Clothing that allows for free movement and protects against scrapes Shoes for the approach; i.e. for a small hike Chalk (if desired) Anything else you want to have for two hours in the canyon
